Globally, 30 to 50% of drinking water is lost through leaking pipelines. Finding leaks across an entire city network can take 6 to 18 months using traditional methods. The EU Directive 2020/2184 now requires water utilities serving 50,000 or more people daily to act. Most European cities are now legally required to act.
